ITs not a FMIC... a cooler .Didnt see the rubber hose but dont they use this to cool the s/c??? Because the e55 and cls55 actually all of the 55's come with a small cooler in the front and it helps to keep the s/c cool.

The oil cooler on the front of the car has two hard lines that bolt to the oil cooler.


The Tranny cooler is behind the front bumper on the passenger side just in front of the rear wheel.

Wether thats an aftermarket intercooler or an OEM one I don't know. But as seen in the pic below thats where the OEM intercooler is positioned:
