ahhh yes, a do it yourself thread. Im sure lots of you now how to do this already because its fairly simple. But for those of you who dont here is a cheap alternative for powder coated your rims. (I would reccomend this for just stock wheels though)
1) remove wheel from car
2) clean wheel with regular water to get of heavy dust and then acetone to get rid of the tuff stuff.
3) sand wheel using 320 grit sand paper. (make sure and sand EVERYWHERE or else chipping will occur)
4) clean the wheel with the acetone again.
5) tape off your tires and pop out center cap (completely up to you though)
6) spray your primer from duplicolor (wheel paint). get enough even coats so that the paint holds.
7) spray your paint from duplicolor (wheel paint of your choice). Enough even coats so that it holds once again.
8) spray your clear coat from duplicolor (wheel paint). I used 2 coats but you can put how much you want.
* Wait about ten minutes between spraying your first and second etc. coats of primer, paint, and clear.
* Once done wait about 1 week before you wash it so that the paint cures properly.
Attached is my finished product. Not the best pic but you dont really need a visual aid for this. However I will get better pics up soon
*EDIT*
more pics up of original, primered and sanded
