After going thru our financial situation with my family...

I dont think I will be able to keep two cars.. :(
and my bro is too much of an amateur to drive stick right now

1995 VQ35 Maxima 5 spd VS 1995 240SX SR20DET 5 spd

Maxima is my baby...went thru a lot
Its on its second vq35...
first one blew because of oil consumption at +140 mph
The new engine is 2007 and its roughly on 8000 miles !!!!
and the tranny was rebuilt by AAMCO and me last summer

240SX was recently purchased..
I have always admired this car..
I had an another one before but had to sell it after a stupid fight in the family..lost $1000 on the sale :(
I hardly know anything about these cars...learning a lot, but seems to be easier than the maxima

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p217/strangemax/240SX/IMG_8969.jpg

Both cars are mechanically sound..
Both cars need exterior work
240sx is much faster UNTIL the 4th gear... my 4th gear in the max is crazy...

Maxima is 4 door.
you CANT put another person in the back of 240sx....they have to be babies

I can probably get around $6500-$7000 for the maxima

and around maybe $5500 for the 240sx

I have to decide soon

Keep 240 and sell maxima because you will find a buyer for the max alot quicker (hopefully) and you can always put another one back together again.

240 is a go.....let me know if you selling max i might have a buyer for you.

keep the 240...lots more versatile, better on gas, faster, looks better, more in demand.

Maximas are a dime a dozen and theyre a bitch to work on.

your in a tuff place.

well telling your form experince the 240sx doesnt age well. the body becomes flimsy after a while things go bad, it becomes a constat problem and you end up fixing it more then you drive it when its highly modifyed. its not as safe as the maxima, it not as comfortable as a maxima (esp when you have coilovers and other suspension parts). yes it rare and has tons of potential but imo i think if you are gona go hard and modify the 240sx i think you should hold on to the max, your 240sx is in the early stages but its a great platform with the s14 sr and clean looking body.
once you start to modify its going to be a pita. if you can stick it out and later get another beater then yes keet the 240sx

the maxima on the other hand is safe and realible, it will be a good over all car, ive seen alot of potiental in these cars, you invested a new motor in it. so seems like your on the right track.

im obviously bias to the 240sx but in the long run i think you may make out better with the maxima.

Sell both, get a real beater. Financial stress is not worth it. + when you earn the big bucks (you're young) you can get a car better than these 2.

Good luck.

or put both up for sale and keep whichever one doesn't sell

tough choice. you could always get another max sometime down the road when u got the $$ but the 240 is a little harder to find. but the only 240 owner on here brought up some good points bout reliability and the peeps who i kno with 240s dont use them as a dd. just consider that if u sell the max will u have money to keep the 240 goin as a dd? cause imo the max is a much safer bet as a dd.

just my .02 cents

well think of it as this which one do you DRIVE MORE OFTEN cause if so thats the one you need to keep. The one that's your daily driver, also Think which one you can find parts for if something BREAKS/malfunctions. I know you don't wanna be stuck if you need a new tranny, when there so rare to find. Sorry no offense but 300 zx fan sorry 240 was never my favorite

its a bitch to find maxima trannies for cheap
parts for the 240sx is fairly cheap..I just bought a nice ass steering wheel + airbag for 60

........
I only drive to school and home, not like you guys..I dont have a steady everyday job yet...Well i do in summer..and the 240 would do just fine,

my concern isnt that it will be difficult to have the 240sx as a daily..

Its just the mechanical concerns (being new to all this and all) , and less room in the back..

if your not good with a tool box your gona be paying out your ass for labor, modifying a 240sx leads to alot of custom stuff, things just dont bolt up.

example, im changing my fmic to a 34x12x4 shit doesn't fit for nothing, i have to hack up my bumper support and retainer move my air bag sensor and horn and make custom brackets, and after all that im sure my bumper will not fit as good as it used to, also the damm intercooler hangs soo low i know im gona scrape it going out my driveway.. headacks dont stop when modifying this car...

keep that in mind its not a bolt on affiar when it comes to the s14..

Stick with the max lol, avoid the problems and the money. In order for you to build up that 240 your going to need alot of money. Your max is already sexy and you have a 3.5 in it. The 240 is going to cost you but hey its your choice best of luck with which ever you choose.
